It is not every day a café makes the paper. This winter, Red Bridge appeared in the Hawkesbury Gazette and Hills2Hawkesbury News, our first story in print, and one we are quietly proud of.
The article told Windsor what we hope you already know: at 37 Macquarie Street there are two dining experiences under one roof. By day, a café serving proper coffee and familiar favourites, eggs Benedict on sourdough, corn fritters with avocado and tomato chutney, the Signature beef burger. By night, the room becomes an Indian kitchen: tandoori meats from the charcoal grill, slow-cooked curries, biryanis and freshly baked naan.
It also told our story properly. The people behind Red Bridge are not newcomers, years in hospitality, retail and care-based work, all of it lived here in Windsor and the wider Hawkesbury. We have watched the region grow, weather floods, rebuild and come back stronger. Red Bridge is our way of giving back: a place for generations to come together under one roof and share good food.
The drinks got a mention too, Red Bridge Pale Ale, Bilpin apple cider pressed just up the road, and house cocktails named for the town: Macquarie’s Decree, an espresso martini with salted caramel, and the Thompson Square Sour with its shiraz float.
